This picturesque fishing village, located on the southeastern coast of Malta, is renowned for its Sunday market, a vibrant extravaganza that brings locals and tourists together to celebrate the island&#8217;s rich traditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the market&#8217;s most prominent features is the plethora of fishing boats that adorn the bay. Known as &#8220;luzzus,&#8221; these traditional Maltese fishing vessels are adorned with brightly colored eye symbols, believed to protect the fishermen from evil spirits.<\/span><\/p><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While the market operates on other days of the week as well, it&#8217;s on Sundays that it truly comes to life. To buy fresh fish, I recommend you to be there before 10 am otherwise it will be sold out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Also, Marsaxlokk is easy to reach but keep in mind the traffic, especially in the morning. To avoid the traffic you can take the direct bus from Valletta (<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bus 81, which departs from platform A6<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">). I really recommend taking the bus from Valletta since getting onto the bus on the route might be impossible, especially during high season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For food enthusiasts, Marsaxlokk&#8217;s Sunday market is a true paradise. You can savor freshly grilled fish at one of the many seafood restaurants lining the harbor.
